Ren Faire!

yukitsukihanaI had soooooo so so so much fun at the Renaissance Festival yesterday.
I totally wanted a period outfit, so I ended up buying one. And I think I might be giving up bras for corsets. If you can find a good one, my god, are those things comfortable. Wore it all day, even to dinner afterwards. And I flounced about. I can too be girly if I want to, see? *flounce flounce flounce*
Regretted my leather arm guard purchase after the festival. Things are just too long.
Got to see a fire whip showing, with the world record holder for fastest whip cracking. Guy's pretty good. Funny, too. And there was a guy with a huge four-ton carillon there. Just amazing. Bought a couple cds. He's called Cast in Bronze. You guys should totally check him out.
Jousting was also fun. We were seated so that we were cheering for Sir Anders the Dane. Sadly, he was the first one killed. Nooooo. The evil Frenchie was made out to be the villain of the joust, and then the pretty boy Brit finally killed him and won the tournament.
So next time I'm at the Ren Faire, I need to buy a couple of pouches so I can use a belt instead of a purse. Sword and quiver are also on my list, but swords are SO expensive, my god. And I don't know where to find a good period quiver. Couldn't find a good bow, either.
But for now, I have my nice outfit and I'll happily live with that~
And a few minutes ago, it hailed so much that it covered the ground like snow. I hope my car's okay.
