Journey is an amazing game
Apr. 8th, 2012 11:08 pmSo, I finally got around to playing Journey.
Oh my god.
The music. The art. The whole thing. HNNNNG
For the first few levels, I didn’t really know what to do. Wandered around, trying to get my bearings and figure out puzzles. I only realized later that there were other people that I could have met up with, but didn’t for lack of knowledge.
Then, I ran into someone, chirping happily because PERSON PERSON PERSON
We wandered around for a while before going sand surfing. I got left behind, but met up with them again in the underground level. We got halfway through before I was spotted by one of the sentinels. I attempted to hide, but it still attacked me and my companion, cutting both our scarves in half. I didn’t see them afterwards, no matter how much I chirped for them. I was heartbroken, and continued on alone, feeling that it was my fault they were attacked and they wouldn’t want to travel with me anymore. Eventually I reached the huge downhill slope with the two sentinels at the end. I made a mad dash to the finish line, barely managing to get away as a sentinel crashed into the barrier.
I met up with someone else in the next area; someone with a huuuge scarf. We danced and twirled around as we ascended the column, then braved the cold wind together. Again, I was left behind in the snow, my chirps barely loud enough to be seen over the protective stones. I last saw them being thrown by the first sentinel in the area.
Running from hiding place to hiding place, I came across someone else! The sentinel went after them twice, and they lost all of their scarf, but I waited, refusing to go on without them. Together, we braved wind and snow and cold as we climbed to the top. Sadly, I lost them in the final area. I occasionally landed and chirped, hoping they’d catch up, but they never did, leaving me to finish on my own.
I can’t wait to play it again, and see what sort of experiences I’ll have next time.

It's so easy to lose people in the last section, you get so caught up in the thrill of flying~

Date: 2012-04-10 11:25 pm (UTC)My parents also watched me play through all of it (dad even helped me solve a puzzle), and mentioned that they'd be interested in playing it themselves. And they don't do video games.
But I can't play my PS3 again until school's out for the summer D:
